Son of Katherine Esther Scruse and Joseph Walter “Joe” Jackson, Micheal was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958. The eighth child of the Jackson family, he showed interest in music and dance from a very young age. In 1964, Michael made his professional debut, when he and Marlon joined the Jackson Brothers, which included Jackie, Tito, and Jermaine.
From the very start, Michael looked destined for stardom, and thus in 1971, he began his solo career. His debut studio album “Got to Be There” was released on January 24, 1972. While Thriller (sixth studio album) became his most successful album with staggering sales of over 65 million copies worldwide.
Fans loved and adored Jackson. For his songs and albums, he could win many awards during his successful career. It included 13 Grammy Awards and 26 American Music Awards, along with hundreds of other awards.
However, with all the success came numerous accounts of allegations against Jackson. It even had a severe effect on him. Then Jackson’s personal issues also resulted in distress and the singer struggled to cope up with his public image. Still, with all these ups and downs, fans remained loyal and continued supporting him and his work even after his death in 2009.
