Seeing the present world scenario it looks more like earning money is easy as compared to giving it away to social causes. Well leaving a coupe of philanthropist, it’s hard to find to people donating money instead of eyeing on more of it. So it’s always interesting to cover such news where at least some of us think about others.
One such name that we often cover and truly admire is the billionaire philanthropist Warren Buffet. As reported by “CNN“, the billionaire recently gave away $3.17 billion in shares of his holding company, Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA). The charity proceeding would go to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and the NoVo Foundation.
It has been more than a decade since Buffet started donating a huge chunk of his net worth every year. It all began back in 2006 when he announced that he has planned to give away almost all his money for numerous social causes. Since then, it is estimated that Buffet has given away more than 40% of his holdings in Berkshire Hathway. Inorder to motivate other billionaires as well, he along with Bill Gates launched The Giving Pledge in 2010.
As of now, 170 people had signed the pledge, who are willing to use their money for the betterment of the world.
